The basics
What is a TikTok downloader?
A tool that saves a copy of a TikTok video (or its audio, or its images) to your device. Browser tools like ClearTik do this by asking TikTok's own servers for the source file, then handing it to your browser to download.
How does ClearTik work?
You paste a public TikTok URL. ClearTik parses the link, calls TikTok's public delivery API to fetch the raw video source, and returns download links to your browser. Nothing is stored on our servers, nothing is re-encoded, no account is required.
Is ClearTik free?
Yes. Unlimited downloads, no signup, no subscription, no per-file cost.
Quality and formats
What resolution do I get?
Whatever TikTok stored for that upload. Usually 1080×1920 for modern content, sometimes 720×1280 for older uploads or creators with data-saver upload settings. There is no upscaling.
Can I download in 4K?
No. TikTok's ceiling is 1080p. Any downloader claiming 4K is upscaling, which adds no real detail.
Do you support MP3?
Yes. Every video has an Audio Track button that gives you the soundtrack as a standalone MP3.
Can I download slideshows?
Yes. Photo posts come with a Download All Photos button plus individual image saves. The soundtrack is available as MP3.
Does the audio have a watermark?
No. There is no spoken TikTok branding or logo audio, the MP3 is exactly what plays in the video.
Safety and privacy
Is ClearTik safe?
Yes. There is nothing to install. The site cannot access your files, contacts, or accounts. It reads the URL you paste and returns a download link, that is the entire attack surface.
Do you keep the videos I download?
No. We do not store the videos, the links you paste, or a history of your downloads. The transaction is stateless from our side.
Do I need to log in with my TikTok account?
No. Any tool that asks for your TikTok login is doing something you do not want done. ClearTik never asks.
Do you use trackers or sell data?
We use standard, aggregate analytics to know how the site is performing. We do not sell user data because there is no user data to sell, no accounts, no history, no personal identifiers.
Legality
Is downloading TikTok videos legal?

Can I get in trouble for using ClearTik?
Using ClearTik itself is not against any law we are aware of. What you do with the files is your responsibility. Personal use is safe, distribution and monetization have their own rules.
Does TikTok allow this?
TikTok's terms discourage third-party downloaders, but the platform focuses enforcement on scraping and on reposts, not on individual users saving public videos.
Edge cases and specifics
Can I download live streams?
No. Live streams do not have a permanent URL until they are saved by the creator as a video. Once that happens, they can be downloaded like any other public post.
Can I download private videos?
No. Private videos are behind access controls, no third-party tool can access them.
Can I download age-restricted videos?
Usually not. Age-restricted content requires a logged-in adult account, which puts it outside the public video pool that downloaders can fetch.
Can I download stitches and duets?
Yes. Stitches and duets are regular public videos and behave the same way.
Can I download deleted videos?
No. Once deleted, the source file is gone from TikTok's servers. No downloader can retrieve it.
Can I download videos in bulk?
One at a time is the intended flow. You can queue many saves back to back in a session, especially on desktop, but there is no bulk uploader button.
Does it work on iPhone/Android/Mac/Windows?
All of them. ClearTik is a website, it works on any device with a modern browser.
Do I need a VPN?
No. A VPN is only useful if the specific video is geo-blocked in your region.
Reposting and reuse
Can I repost a downloaded TikTok on Reels or Shorts?
Yes, with credit to the original creator in the caption. This is common practice, and the platforms tolerate it as long as you are not passing the content off as your own.
Can I use downloaded TikToks in monetized YouTube videos?
Only with permission from the creator and, if there is copyrighted music, a license for that too. Otherwise you risk DMCA takedowns and channel strikes.
Can I use TikTok audio as a ringtone?
For personal use, yes. Download the MP3 and set it as your ringtone. Do not redistribute the ringtone as your own product.
